Our training and development programms cover all aspects of grooming and all needs in a holistic and comprehensive way

Art au Poil offers several training courses and workshops that deal with various aspects of animal care; whether it is for behavioral grooming, zoocosmetology, learn to cut claws, dry in line or for animal behavior practical training of various species. Our certification training is offered on site or online. We also offer advanced training, conferences and workshops in private or small groups. 

There are different paths available to you, depending on your desires, your needs and your final goal.

To become a TCAP Behavioral Grooming Practitioner and professionally practice this beautiful art, the TCAP training is for you. 

This is your journey to get there:

  • To start, 2 basic trainings are required: Behavioral Grooming TCAP 1 & Zoocosmetology ZAP 1.
    These two essential trainings can be followed on site, in Saint-Pie, when they take place, or you can follow them remotely, offline, in the comfort of your home, at your own pace.
  • Then, you can contact one of our partners in order to follow a complete practical training in Behavioral Grooming. 
    L'Art au Poil has partnered with Un Bain de Folie and the Centre Canin Legardeur to offer you a complete and professional training in TCAP Behavioral Grooming. Please visit their respective websites and contact them directly if you are interested.* 
  • In parallel, or after having finished your practical training at one of our partners, in order to complete and finalize your certification and obtain your title of TCAP Behavioral Grooming Practitioner, you will have to follow the rest of the training with l'Art au Poil School: Behavioral Grooming TCAP 2.
In order to deepen your knowledge of animal aromatherapy, animal herbalism, clay therapy and to make natural cosmetics for animals, the Zoocosmetology ZAP 2 - Animal Druid is the training that you need.
The Zoocosmetology ZAP 3 - Animal Druid EXPERT training will allow you to deepen your knowledge of natural cosmetics for animals and humans
 
We strongly advise each student of l'Art au Poil to participate in workshops every 2 years in order to keep up to date with the latest techniques and, thus, to continue to do your job as well as possible, in accordance with the latest scientific advances.

We have set up a "lighter" program for all animal lovers who want to care for dogs: the Art au Poil Care Training ESAAP 1, 2 and 3.

This workshop is for both professionals and humans who wish to learn the basics of Behavioral Grooming while training animals to be in a calm, fearless and confident state when brushed, untangled, shaved, washed, dried and when trimming nails.

This workshop is also aimed for dog trainers who want to learn how to train dogs to be groomed and for animal health technicians to help them in their daily life. 

Dog owners are also welcome. Don't stress about routine grooming for your dog. Learn what you can do at home safely and successfully with your pet.

L'Art au Poil has developed a certification especially for vets and veterinary assistants:
the Medical Training METAP.

This training provides advanced mechanical training skills, impeccable hand movements and clear communication with the animal. This hands-on training introduces learning neuroscience parameters to optimize the performance of medical training in a short period of time.
You'll never look at medical training in the same way again.

In order to develop your behavioral training skills and get out of your comfort zone, the CAP Practical Animal Behavior certification is highly recommended.

This practical workshop aims to apply concretely the notions learned in animal behavior through the training of different animal species: dogs, cats, miniature horses, chickens, alpacas, goat and sheep.

L'Art au Poil offers to students from far areas and to international students the opportunity to stay in a rural B&B at a modest cost. Of course, students from Switzerland, Belgium, France, the United States and elsewhere will have the chance to visit certain parts of our beautiful province of Quebec in our company.
